Difference between On page optimization and Off page optimization

The definition and phenomena of SEO has been discussed in other posts of this blog in very detail but for new user I just want to define SEO in one sentence which is

“SEO is the process of enhancing the presence and visibility of a website on search engine listings.”

There are two major techniques for website promotion in SEO services. These are On page optimization and Off page optimization.

On page Optimization:-

In this type of search engine optimization we use the techniques directly related to your website and in your website. For Instance meta tag optimization, website text optimization (Relevant text to your Meta tags), alt attribute optimization in image attribute, proper navigation (if your navigation), use of keywords in heading tags, no broken link availability, Layout of webpage also handle in this type of search engine optimization. Regular basis of content changes also included in On page Optimization, the more your content dynamic the more it is plus point in search engine optimization.

In on page optimization you must care one important thing which is minimum use javascript because many search engine totally ignores JavaScript. Why search engine ignore javascript and stop crawling further over page? To get answer, please read our other post.

Using On page optimization you must care off broken links because broken links hurt badly the seo process and crawler stop crawling if it find any broken link specially found in sitemap.

Off page optimization

Off page optimization plays a great role in attaining higher rankings in major search engines. in OFF page optimization, there are items which are related to the other websites. The back links play vital role in OFF page optimization. The phenomena of back link is, you sumit the link of your website in different web directories or web sites then if user click the link of your website there and comes to your website from there, this is so called back link. But it is wrong that off page optimization is all about back links because there are large number of things to handle in off page optimization to improve search engine rankings and generate targeted traffic to your website. and these are

4)Social media

Link Building:-

A directory submission is the way of submitting websites in the directory so that it gets recognized by the search engines. This is a way of getting one way link as well as increasing traffic to the website.

Advertising:-

Advertise your website in other websites, no matter whether the advertising is free or paid, it gives you the traffic.

Social Media: -

Articles can be used to get natural rankings in search engines. Also a way of one way link as well as make your content popular in search engines and attracting more and more visitors. Articles enhance the popularity of your website as well as increase more back links.

Press Releases:-

Press release in a simple word means an introduction about the product, services and happenings of a company and stating all about the launch of a new product.

One must take care of both type of optimization in order to get maximum results.
