What are Bookmarks?
Sometimes during the surfing of different websites in internet you like some websites and then save these websites in your favorites as a bookmark. Whenever you want to access those websites you just go to the favorites folder and then click over that particular website that you want to access. Normally when you bookmark any website to favorites folder then during this process the title of that website is visible in Name: textbox and by default the Create In: field contains the path of your favorites folder, you can organize that website over folders that you made in favorites folder for categorizing the website in order to quickly easy access the website of particular category.
Example:- You are reading the article related to search engine optimization so if you like this article or blog then you also wish to save this in your favorites folder for easy access at next time, it also prevents you to learn the url of the website, so you will click over favorites menu and click over Add to favorites and then its up to you where you place the website, but I refer you to make new folder and name it as seo and then save this website there and every time when you like any website that is related to seo then save that website too in seo folder located in your favorites in order to categorize the website.
Tip: - Always save your website in relevant folder in favorites folder.
So this is all about the bookmarks but what are the social bookmarks.
What are Social Bookmarks?
A social bookmarking website is the website where a user can save his/her favorite bookmarks that can be accessible from any computer connect to the web from any place. The need of doing this is that you can access your favorite website from any where, not from only your pc.
How can I add my favorite websites in Social Bookmarks websites?
For this you will have to make you account in any website that is giving you free service of social bookmarks. Create your account, for example you make your account in StumbleUpon (A very famous social bookmarks website), after creating the account in StumbleUpon you will read a message their to download the toolbar of StumbleUpon. You will have to download and install the toolbar of StumbleUpon and you will see that particular toolbar under the address bar of internet explorer. Now whenever you connect yourself to internet, first connect yourself to StumbleUpon from StumbleUpon tool bar and then whatever website you like just click over add to stumble, if that website is never ever added to stumble upon then you will get a popup window, there you will provide the description and title of your website and from categories put that website in StumbleUpon category so that other users at stumble upon can access that website too by following the category. Same procedure offers other Social Bookmarking websites.
The social bookmarking websites provides user option to make bookmarks private or public.
Role of Social Bookmark in better search engine optimization
As you know back-links are very important in seo process. Social Bookmark is a good SEO tool for you to get more back link and higher PR.

Broken Links the Killers of your website’s ranking
What are Broken Links?
Broken links are links that leads to the page where you found written “The page cannot be displayed”. In other words broken links lead you to those web pages that haven’t been developed. They really damage your seo process.
How Broken Links Occur?
Broken links occur due to the mistake of developer, or we can say that it is human error because for example you have page abc.php that you have developed earlier for Click Here hyper link but due to some mistake you give link to acb.php instead of abc.php, so due to your mistake the broken link occurs. If Click Here leads us to abc.php page then we call it just Normal LINK or Hyper Link but due to UN availability of the landing web page we call this Broken Link.
Can broken links are dangerous for your seo campaign?
Absolutely, yes. Broken links are the killer of your seo process because when crawlers begin to crawling your website they want your website must be completed developed, if they found any broken link then they think that website is not completely developed and hence they decide not to crawl your website further more. So for example, let us consider your website consists of four phases which are top, left, right and bottom, now if search engine begins to crawl your website from top left and there it founds any broken link, it will not crawl further more, so if your main keywords are after the broken links then how can search engine visit your targeted keywords, it means that due to broken links all your time become wasted that you serve for search engine optimization.
Some search engines instantly stop crawling your website if it they founds any broken links but other search engine stops crawling when they found continuity of broken links. In both cases we have found that Broken Links are the killers of your seo campaign.
How can we identify broken links in our websites?
Simply go to following website http://www.dead-links.com and provide the url of your website, then the spider of this website will tell you in the form of results that how many broken links are there in your website with their pages name that are not available. So check the broken links and then in top priority remove these broken links in order to get better position in Google against targeted keywords.

Web Directories influence in SEO Process
Web directory allows any person to submit his website by selecting appropriate category so that users can visit that website. Basically web directory is a series of Web Pages, categorizing links to other websites. The websites that are displayed by web directory are not indexed by any search engine robots, infect all sites that are indexed are submitted by users. Web Directory is also called Link Directory. It specializes in linking to other web sites and categorizing those links. Directories have various types of listings, often dependent upon the price paid for inclusion:
• Free Submission – No charges for review and listing of the site
• Paid Submissions - a one-time or recurring fee is charged for reviewing/listing the submitted link
• Reciprocal Link - a link back to the directory must be added somewhere on the submitted site in order to get listed in the directory
• No Follow - there is a rel="nofollow" attribute associated with the link, meaning search engines will not follow the link and will not able to check any website link placed in the web directory
• Featured Listing - the link is given a premium position in a category (or multiple categories) or other sections of the directory, such as the homepage
• Bid for Position - where sites are ordered based on bids
• Affiliate links - where the directory earns commission for referred customers from the listed websites
Types of Web Directories
There are normally two types of web directories, one of them is Human-edited directories and other one is Bid for Position directories.
Human-edited Directories
A human-edited directory is created and maintained by editors who add links based on the terms and policies particular to that directory. SEOs normally targeted these directories as links from any reputable source will improve their raking in the search engines. Some web directories may prevent search engine from rating a displayed link by using redirects, no follow attributes or other techniques. It’s become now common routine for SEO guy to submit his site to the web directories to get vital back-links and improve his website position in Search Engine.
Bid for Position directories
Bid for Position directories or also known as bidding web directories, are paid-for-inclusion web directories where the listings of websites in the directory are ordered according to their bid amount. They are special in that the more a person pays the higher up the list of websites in the directory they go. If your website is highly listed then it is maximum chance that your website will be visited by user. In other words, it’s all about Money. You have to spend some Money in order to get some Money.
Process of submitting website to the web directory
You just go to the web directory, select any category that is related to your website and then submit your website. After that editor checks your website that u submitted against any category and then its up to editor whether he/she accepts or rejects your website depends upon some criteria according to web directory.
Steps must be in your mind while submitting your site to the web directories
1)Make sure that your website is ready and must be ready 100 percent with no broken link in any of the page. Good web design and fast loading pages having lot of content.
2)Select appropriate category while submitting your website to the web directory. If you have any confusion simply put your keywords in the search area and then performs the search process and from the results of search process you will come to know the categories which are directly related to your website (Most of the web directories not give such facility).
3)Before submitting the website it is very satisfactory to read first the terms and conditions of the web directory. Follow their instructions to have your website listed in their database.
4)While Submitting your website , please describe your website openly that for which purpose your website is, because you cannot optimize your website in the web directory using alt tags, heading tags or other seo techniques to get listed. So description of your website is very important part during the website submission in the web directory.

HTML Validation and SEO Process
HTML Stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. An HTML file is a text file containing small markup tags. The markup tags tell the Web browser how to display the page. Simply the purpose of html is to create the webpage, normally static webpage. A website consists of many webpages.
Many SEO Guys doesn’t know the importance of HTML validation, they perform other seo techniques to improve the rating of their websites but due to ignoring the HTML Code Validation in some keywords they stand second rather than first. Some SEO Guys say that HTML Validation is not a part of seo process and it should be ignore. According to me this is totally ignorance because you can understand yourself that website is developed due to HTML and if the Code of HTML is wrong or not according to the standard of w3c then it will hurt your seo process, I can’t say that it hurts badly or small injection but it hurts, as if during the crawling of search engines robot if html code is written wrong then robot will ignore the content within that particular html element, no matter whether the content is simple text or containing your important keywords.
Example
Let us consider we have two important keywords which are free tutorials and php tutorials and we have implemented these two keywords in two different places individually. We have implemented first keyword in h1 tag and other keyword in alt tag, so if we write code some think like this “<1h>free tutorials” and for second keyword “for alt attribute that resides in img tag if we use atl="php tutorials" then you can guess after viewing the code that search engine will totally ignore those keywords that resides in these tags.
I can guess that still some seo guys reading this article are saying that how it is possible because if we wrongly write h1 tag then we can catch this mistake because the text will not become bolder and bigger. But brothers what for wrongly use of alt tag can u catch it too, very difficult. So please make sure to validate your code before moving it to production. Make your habit to have html validation as it is one of important seo techniques.
In my other post which name is SEO project plan, I recommend HTML Validation. Please read this post.

Feed submission nowadays is getting popular, as one can find your product or services through feed related sites. E.g. By focusing entirely on product search, Froogle applies the power of Google's search technology to a very specific task: locating stores that sell the item you want to find and pointing you directly to the place where you can make a purchase. I’ll create your own Froogle account and create your own data feed from the product information, services and tools to verify your data to make sure that your listing is accurate, submit to froogle and make sure that your data is listed on froogle, and then repeat the same practice each after 15 days to make sure that the latest information about our product is available. Similarly the same will be implemented for feed optimization on dealtime.com, yahoo shopping feed, epinion, about.com, and medical feed buzz sites

Video campaigns are a powerful tool to engage audiences, reach new consumers and generate grassroots buzz about your brand or product. Numerous campaigns -- the bride freak out, Doritos Super Bowl contest and Elf Yourself -- have become pop culture phenomena.
These successes demonstrate the power of great viral campaigns and their potential to build strong brand affinity. Yet for every wildly successful campaign, there are scores of almost great campaigns or ones that utterly fail to capture the video community’s attention, much less.

SEO Glossary
Please read the glossary of commonly used terms in the world of search engine ranking.
Click Popularity: A measure of the relevance of sites obtained by noting which sites are clicked on most and how much time users spend in each site.
Alt Tag: The alternative text that the browser displays when the surfer does not want to or cannot see the pictures present in a web page. Using alt tags containing keywords can improve the search engine ranking of the page for those keywords.
Cloaking: The process by which your site can display different pages under different circumstances. It is primarily used to show an optimized page to the search engines and a different page to humans. Most search engines will penalize a site if they discover that it is using cloaking.
Comment Tag: The text present within the tags in a web page. Most search engines will ignore the text within the Comment Tags.
Crawler: See Spider.
Directory: A site containing links to other sites which are organized into various categories. Examples of directories are Yahoo!, Open Directory, LookSmart etc.
Doorway Page: A page which has been specially created in order to get a high ranking in the search engines. Also called gateway page, bridge page, entry page etc.
Dynamic Content: Information in web pages which changes automatically, based on database or user information. Search engines will index dynamic content in the same way as static content unless the URL includes a ? mark. However, if the URL does include a ? mark, many search engines will ignore the URL.
Entry Page: See Doorway Page.
Frames: An HTML technique allowing web site designers to display two or more pages in the same browser window. Many search engines do not index framed web pages properly - they only index the text present in the NOFRAMES tag. Unless a web page which uses frames contains relevant content in the NOFRAMES tag, it is unlikely to get a high ranking in those search engines.
Gateway Page: See Doorway Page.
Hallway Page: A page containing links to various doorway pages.
Heading Tags: A paragraph style that is displayed in a large, bold typeface. Having text containing keywords in the Heading Tags can improve the search engine ranking of a page for those keywords.
Hidden Text: Text that is visible to the search engines but is invisible to humans. It is mainly accomplished by using text in the same color as the background color of the page. It is primarily used for the purpose of including extra keywords in the page without distorting the aesthetics of the page. Most search engines penalize web sites which use such hidden text.
Image Map: An image containing one or more invisible regions which are linked to other pages. If the image map is defined as a separate file, the search engines may not be able to index the pages to which that image map links. The way out is to have text hyperlinks to those pages in addition to the links from the image map. However, image maps defined within the same web page will generally not prevent search engines from indexing the other pages.
Inktomi: A database of sites used by many of the larger search engines like HotBot, MSN etc. For more information, see http://www.inktomi.com/
JavaScript: A scripting language commonly used in web pages. Most search engines are unable to index these scripts properly.
Keyword: A word or phrase that you type in when you are searching for information in the search engines.
Keyword Frequency: Denotes how often a keyword appears in a page or in an area of a page. In general, higher the number of times a keyword appears in a page, higher its search engine ranking. However, repeating a keyword too often in a page can lead to that page being penalized for spamming.
Keyword Prominence: Denotes how close to the start of an area of a page that a keyword appears. In general, having the keyword closer to the start of an area will lead to an improvement in the search engine ranking of a page.
Keyword Weight: Denotes the number of times a keyword appears in a page as a percentage of all the other words in the page. In general, higher the weight of a particular keyword in a page, higher will be the search engine ranking of the page for that keyword. However, repeating a keyword too often in order to increase its weight can cause the page to be penalized by the search engines.
Link Popularity: The number of sites which link to a particular site. Many search engines use link popularity as a factor in determining the search engine ranking of a web site.
Meta Description Tag: The tag present in the header of a web page which is used to provide a short description of the contents of the page. Some search engines will display the text present in the Meta Description Tag when the page appears in the results of a search. Including keywords in the Meta Description Tag can improve the search engine ranking of a page for those keywords. However, some search engines ignore the Meta Description Tag.
Meta Keywords Tag: The tag present in the header of a web page which is used to provide alternative words for the words used in the body of the page. The Meta Keywords Tag is becoming less and less important in influencing the search engine ranking of a page. Some search engines ignore the Meta Keywords tag.
Meta Refresh Tag: The tag present in the header of a web page which is used to display a different page after a few seconds. If a page displays another page too soon, most search engines will either ignore the current page and index the second page or penalize the current page for spamming.
Pay Per Click Search Engine: A search engine in which the ranking of your site is determined by the amount you are paying for each click from that search engine to your site. Examples of pay per click search engines are Overture, HootingOwl etc.
Robot: In the context of search engine ranking, it implies the same thing as Spider. In a different context, it is also used to indicate a software which visits web sites and collects email addresses to be used for sending unsolicited bulk email.
Robots.txt: A text file present in the root directory of a site which is used to control which pages are indexed by a robot. Only robots which comply with the Robots Exclusion Standard will follow the instructions contained in this file.
Search Engine: A software that searches for information and returns sites which provide that information. Examples of search engines are AltaVista, Google, Hotbot etc.
Search Engine Placement: The practice of trying to ensure that a web site obtains a high rank in the search engines. Also called search engine positioning, search engine optimization etc.
Spamming: Using any search engine ranking technique which causes a degradation in the quality of the results produced by the search engines. Keywords are the words that user type in the search box to perform a searching process. The right keywords are those that clearly describe the aim of content that your website have.
Getting good position doesn’t depend upon targeted keywords infect it depends upon proper placing of these targeted keywords in your webpage and how many quality external links your webpage is getting. But if you have chosen wrong keywords then please replace them with appropriate targeted keywords because search engine will kick out your website if they found irrelevant keywords.
So let’s start with the homepage of your website. Look at the content of the homepage and put relevant keywords and key phrases according to the content placed in the homepage. Try to form three to four key phrases, since competition for key phrase is very fierce and it is very difficult to get a top position against one keyword or key phrase that your website have. I hope no you have better understand the difference between keywords and keyphrases.
Once you have selected targeted keyphrases the next step is to check the demand of these keyphrases and then reselect the keyphrases according to the demand. We shall first check the demand of your selected keyphrases by going to Overture's Search Term Suggestion Tool:

This tool will show you only those searches performed in Overture (and only in one month time). However, the relative popularity of each search term will be very similar in other search engines as well. In addition to telling you if your selected keyphrases are popular among the people, this tool will show you other keyphrases that you may not have thought about, which may even be more relevant and fruitful to your site.
Now the next step is to check how many competitors you have against your targeted keywords and keyphrases. Again goes to the above example of php tutorials website, there are lot of competitors against keyphrases like php tutorials, free php tutorials and advance php tutorials, so please try to create keyphrase other than these (Work on these too but if you want to get listed in the first page of search engine very soon then please also work over newley developed keyphrases) such as php tutorials websites, php programming, php tutorials world.
Having said that, get your list of keyphrases, go to Google and type-in each of them in the search box. Enter your keyphrases within quotation marks, and see how many results each individual query produces, making a note of those with a relatively small number of results (less competition). You will stick with the keyphrases that:
1. Best describes the content of your page.
2. Is a popular search term according to Overture's Search Term Suggestion Tool.
